22 Aug Mont-Tremblant . . . Not Just for Skiing

This past weekend, Ironman put Mont-Tremblant on the map for an Ironman destination very much in par with Lake Placid’s popularity. It would be my guess that it becomes as popular, particularly with those of us in the Northeast.
On the women’s side, mom and first year pro Jessie Donovan had another break-through performance after her inaugural Lake Place win and took Tremblant with a 12 minute cushion over veteran Uli Bromme. Rachel Kiers followed up with third. Although we won’t see Donovan in Kona this year, you can bet that she’s going to rack her KPR points for next year so that she can be in the mix.
For the men, Romain Guillaume took what must have been a very satisfying first Ironman win over second place Alejandro Santamaria and Matthew Russell. Guillaume is headed to Kona and we’ll see if he can carry the confidence of this win into a strong placing on the Big Island.
